This morning we have received the following notification from Microsoft. We have raised a support case to find the cause and resolve the issues.
User Impact: Emails that are generated by interacting with products within Microsoft 365 will not be sent to users.

Current status: Our monitoring has detected potential misuse of services in your tenant. Our automated systems have disabled email notifications that are generated through interaction with products in Microsoft 365.
Resolution Microsoft support has advised that this notification was a false alarm. (15:43 AEST — Nov 20)
